 Lessons Learned

One of the most interesting questioned posed this week was what is my calling? And how do I go about finding it? Often times the best way to do anything is just go about doing good. This weeks lessons has pointed that out, that just by finding ways to develop good habits and work toward developing our talents I can find what things I excel at and that can help me understand my calling

Lessons Not Yet Learned

What is my calling, is one of the biggest questions that has been on my mind. Though I may not know it I do know I can work toward it.

  • Why do you think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams?
Learning from Randy Pausch was like watching inspiration flow. He had a simple can do attitude. One of the best comments that he made was about walls, that their purpose wasn't to keep you out. No, that is for the other people who don't want it bad enough.  "Brick walls are there for a reason: they let us prove how badly we want things.”
  • Do you feel that dreaming is important? Why or why not?
The interesting thing about dreaming is imagination. Often times we get so caught up in the little details of life we forget the world of imagination and dreams. We forget to hope, we forget to dream, and we forget to challenge our current situation. Dreaming helps us set goals and imagination helps us achieve them.
  • Discuss at least one of your childhood dreams. Explain why you believe you can or cannot achieve this dream.
One childhood dream of mine as simple as it is is become a father. This is not just a dream of having children but the role and responsibility of a father. Our society is progressing in many ways but one thing is for sure where are the fathers? What is the last drama you've watched when one of the lead roles was an outstanding example of what a father is meant to be? To be honest I can't think of one. Now more than every we need to have raise up good fathers. Men who would sacrifice everything for the good of their family. I believe that this goal can be achieved.
